The Trimble NetRS is used throughout the EarthScope Plate Boundary Observatory Network (PBO).  The NetRS has been discontinued by Trimble but continues to be supported by UNAVCO.  Firmware version 1.3-2 is recommended for all users and can be installed on all NetRS receivers regarless of Warranty Date.

• Configure via an http interface; no special programming software.

• Download via the http interface or via ftp; no special downloading software.

• No ftp push capabilities.

• No screen; LED lights indicate operating mode.

• Records L1, L2. Records L2C with firmware v1.1-5 and above. For more information regarding L2C go to:  Trimble NetRS - How to track and log L2C 

• Data stored on internal compact flash card.

• Native data format is .T00, or .T01 with firmware 1.2 and above; streams RT17, or RT27 with firmware 1.2 and above.

Software and Configuration Files

There is no special software needed for the Trimble NetRS.

• UNAVCO NetRS configuration file (.cfg)
  This file can be uploaded to the NetRS via its web interface. The receiver will be configured with a static IP address of 192.168.1.2 when the configuration file is enabled.

Testing

• Power Draw Profile for Trimble NetRS and Iridium Systems
  UNAVCO performed a benchtop test to record a high-resolution time history of power consumed by a Trimble NetRS GPS system with Iridium communications.
